What is CPD Diary?
CPD Diary is our online platform for participants on our CPD scheme. It provides a user friendly, intuitive way to maintain an up-to-date record of your continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Our CPD scheme, with access to CPD Diary, is available to career-grade (not in training) paediatricians. It is a member benefit and is free of charge to Associate members, Ordinary members (not in training), Senior members and Senior Fellows. Non-members can subscribe to the scheme.
How do I access the CPD Diary?
CPD Diary is hosted on RCPCH ePortfolio (which is also used for doctors in training), and can be accessed via your RCPCH online account.
Go to http://www.eportfolio.rcpch.ac.uk, or go to the main website and find in Quick links. Log in with your RCPCH number and password (see article about your online account).
Do I need to record CPD credits?
No. Our CPD scheme focuses on reflection, flexibility and self‑accreditation, and there is no minimum number of credits. If you choose, you can record credits.
What balance of CPD should I aim for?
Your CPD activities should fall under “clinical” or “non‑clinical”. They can be categorised as external, internal or personal CPD.
A balanced mix across categories is expected.
Can I add CPD activities after I have completed them?
Yes. You can add retrospective entries to CPD Diary.
Why do my newly added activities all appear on the same date?
This is usually due to the system default when dates are not manually adjusted in the entry form.
Who can see my CPD entries?
Your CPD entries are private to you and can be shared with an external person, i.e. your Appraiser or Revalidation Officer, by exporting your activities as a PDF report document.
