How to start creating an online account
You will create your online account on our main RCPCH website.
If you don't have an RCPCH number, you'll need to complete a short form, including your name, contact and work details and contact preferences. We'll send a link to the email address you provide so you can set your password.
If you already have an RCPCH number (if you have applied for an RCPCH exam, this will be your candidate exam reference number), you'll just need to enter this number and we'll send a link to the email address on record so you can set your password.
What information you will need to provide
You will need to provide your full name, date of birth and gender. Please check carefully, as it is important these are correct if you plan to register for exams or apply for membership; your full name must match that in your passport. (If you need to change your name or date of birth, you will need to contact us.)
If you use just one name (mononym), please enter the name into both the first name and last name fields.
You will need to provide your contact details, including your email address. You will be able to update these details on your online account at any time.
You will also be asked to set your contact preferences.
Set your password
When you set up your account, you will need to set a password. This should be unique and not be used for any other account.
Your password must contain 12 or more characters, and include lower and upper case letters, numbers and symbols.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recommends using a string of three random words and avoiding passwords that are easy to guess, such as your birthday or your pet's name.
You should never share your password with anyone else or write it down. You can use using a secure, two factor authenticated password manager.
If you think your password has been compromised, you should change it immediately. When logged in, you can go to Quick links at top of the website and select Edit password.
You can also see what to do if you have forgotten your RCPCH number or password.
