Membership types
We have different membership types depending on your career stage or pathway. Successful completion of our membership exams will enable you to become an Ordinary member and use the designation MRCPCH.
The pinnacle of RCPCH membership is Fellowship - which members may apply for via registration or election - and Fellows can use the designation FRCPCH.
The nine membership types are:
- Medical student
- Foundation doctor
- Junior (for UK paediatricians in paediatric specialty training before MRCPCH)
- Ordinary
- Fellow
- Associate (for those with a primary medical qualification, such as SAS doctors, Associate specialists and Trust doctors)
- Affiliate (for those with a professional interest in child health and no primary medical qualification, such as paediatric and neonatal nurses, pharmacists, social workers, teachers, physician associates, school nurses or allied health professionals)
- Senior member, Senior Fellow and Retired associate member
